As a wedding photographer, I believe how I work matters just as much as what I create. Weddings are deeply meaningful days, often held in beautiful natural or historic spaces, and I take seriously the responsibility of caring for them.
This page outlines both my Sustainability Promise and my Carbon Reduction Plan. Together they guide how I measure, reduce and take responsibility for the environmental impact of my work.
A digital first, low waste approach
My business operates primarily online. Contracts, invoices, questionnaires and galleries are delivered digitally, reducing unnecessary paper use. Proofing and image delivery are handled through secure systems so couples can enjoy their photographs without waste.
On wedding days I carry a minimal, considered kit. There are no single use plastics and no printed paperwork unless requested. Any waste produced while working at a venue is disposed of responsibly using the venue recycling systems. All of my photography packaging is fully recycled and plastic free.
Thoughtful use of equipment and energy
I maintain my cameras, computers and lighting carefully to ensure longevity and efficiency. Equipment is repaired rather than replaced wherever possible, and rechargeable batteries are used as standard.
My editing and admin workflow is designed to reduce energy consumption through efficient systems and power saving settings. Small conscious choices made daily create meaningful reduction over time.
Travel and emissions
Travel is the largest source of emissions within my business and forms a central part of my carbon reduction plan.
All journeys are planned carefully to minimise unnecessary mileage. Where possible, bookings are grouped geographically and lower emission transport options are considered. I prioritise working with local venues and suppliers and aim to reduce avoidable return trips.
Being intentional about how and when I travel is one of the most significant ways I reduce my overall footprint.
Heirloom products and responsible printing
I believe in creating fewer things that last longer. Fine art prints and heirloom albums are designed to be cherished for generations, reducing disposable consumption.
When printing is chosen, I work with trusted United Kingdom print labs to limit overseas shipping and ensure packaging is recyclable or reusable wherever possible.
Ongoing responsibility
Sustainability is not a single decision but an ongoing practice. I review how I work regularly, monitor key areas such as travel and energy use, and continue seeking more responsible options within the photography and wedding industry.
My aim is simple. To create timeless wedding photographs while honouring the spaces, communities and environments that make these days possible.
Because preserving memories for future generations should never come at the expense of the world they will inherit.
