When you book a family photoshoot with me, you're not signing up for stiff poses, forced smiles, or perfectly behaved little ones. You're inviting me into your story—muddy knees, wild curls, snack breaks and all.
As a Northamptonshire family photographer, I believe the beauty of family life lies in the in-between moments: the way your toddler clings to your leg, the laughter in the chaos, the quiet glances between parents when they think no one's looking.
No Need to Sit Still
Let’s make this clear from the start—your children do not have to sit still and smile. In fact, I’d rather they didn’t. I want them to run, jump, pick flowers, chase bubbles, climb tree stumps and explore the world with that untamed wonder only children have. That’s where the magic is.
I gently guide rather than pose, creating a space where your family can simply be yourselves. Whether that looks like cuddles on the sofa, dancing in the kitchen, or chasing each other through tall grass, I’ll be there, camera in hand, quietly capturing it all.
Outdoors, At Home, or On an Adventure
My family sessions can take place wherever you feel most comfortable. That might be in your own home, where your children feel safe and free, where the walls hold memories and your morning routine is part of the story. Or it might be in the great outdoors—woodland wanders, wildflower meadows, river paddles or golden fields bathed in evening light.
We could even plan an activity together—baking, den-building, painting, or a nature walk. These moments create authentic connections and natural opportunities for beautiful, storytelling photographs.
A Photo of You Too
One of the most common things I hear from parents is, “We haven’t had a photo of just us since the kids were born,”, So let’s change that.
During your session, I always carve out time for a few photos of you as a couple. Because your love—the one that started it all—is just as important to document as your growing family. Whether you’re sharing a quiet look, holding hands while the kids play, or wrapped in a hug amidst the mayhem, it matters. You matter.
Embrace the Chaos
Family life is beautifully unpredictable. Someone might have a meltdown, someone else might be upside-down, and you might feel like it’s all a bit much—but please know, this is exactly what I want to photograph.
